Public School - Educational Option Program
Our elementary Montessori Program is a free public school option. It does not require any tuition and is part of the Juneau School District. The goal of the elementary years is to prepare children for life. This is done through a rich and complex, rigorous and respectful classical education. The elementary program seeks to provide the child with the tools to become a learner independent of the adult, develop an understanding of how to learn, provide a social setting where peaceful resolution to conflict is learned and practiced, acquaint the child with the democratic process, instill respect for all living things, honor individuality and differences as well as civic participation, give the child a sense of belonging to the human family and the universe.
Our adolescent Montessori Program is a free public school option. It does not require any tuition and is part of the Juneau School District. The adolescent program requires a high degree of self-direction and academic motivation. The students are active members of a community that requires deep personal responsibility and respect for their peers, the adults who work with them, and to their work.
